Who Was King George III?
King George III was born in London on June 4, 1738 and died in the United Kingdom on January 29, 1820 at the age of 81. He married Charlotte and had fifteen children: nine sons and six daughters. King George III was the King of Great Britain and Ireland for 59 years. He became King in 1760 at the age of twenty-two when his father became ill and died. King George III was part of a monarchy. A monarchy is type of government with a monarch as the head master. The monarch is usually passed down from generation to generation through a royal family.
